I Am Dark, You Say

I am dark, you say

Light delineates the dark, defines the natural state of this world for half of our existence
There is such beauty in the light, most say
But there is exquisiteness in the dark
For there are many things which require night to enter our site.

As it was required of Persephone to descend into hell
This bringing beauty to the underworld
Darkness attends to the delicate beauty of night phlox, the sweet fragrance of the moonflower, not even the angels trumpet can release its aroma in the light of day

So, I am dark, you say
Cloudy, murky
I say that even in my darkened heart and mind there is beauty yet to find
