Kristin walked out onto the patio on
the 113th floor of the building her office owned and occupied. After
a day of making interns cry and employees want to quit, she liked to
come out here and gloat.
Sipping her coffee, she glimpsed her
watch, 5:05. Cursing, she threw her coffee and ran for the door. It
locked at 5pm. Through the tinted glass she saw her phone and card on
her desk. Nobody was going to stop in and say bye on their way to the
bar. The night coming, temperatures dropping, she was shivering and
starting to cry.
