Christmas is done,it's come and gone
The wrapping paper is thrown away
New toys are replacing old ones
Exhaustion has settled over ourselves, our daughters, our sons.
The year is ending, coming to its inevitable close
Its predictably plain day dressed up in shiny plastic
Millions of people acting spastic
For just another day.
The day after that? Well, that, too, is just another day
As are the days that follow.
People will be born, people will die
It will be just another day, by and by
